Thanks to Rick for providing several common names for this plant--I'll choose Red Bird of Paradise. I figured our Arizona guy might know, as I've seen it growing in AZ quite a few times. I'm not sure what the name of this flowering bush is, but it is very bright and pretty. It grows well locally, and I have seen it growing in Arizona. This photo was taken as I drove in a neighborhood in the town of Brawley, CA, on my Salton Sea birding trip. 6/3/20 My website: www.sparhawkphotoraphy.com
I passed by this plant in a garden in my neighborhood. These are only some of the flowers on this quite large Angel Trumpet plant. I really liked the look of the hanging flowers, so since they were on the other side of the yard and I couldn't get a close-up, I wanted to include as many of the flowers as I could. 5/11/20 My website: www.sparhawkphotography.com
When I was out walking and photographed the amaryllis the other day, in the same garden, I saw these pretty roses, and just had to take a shot or two. It was late in the day, with low light, but I kind of liked the softness of the image. 5/7/20 My website: www.sparhawkphotography.com
