These pretty yellow flowers were photographed in a schoolyard in Redlands on election day. I had seen them blooming a few places in town, but hadn't been able to get a close look at them. I don't know what they are, but I'm sure one or more of our Smuggers will know. It doesn't look like a flower that I would expect to see in November somehow. Then we had a two day cold snap and rainstorm, and suddenly the yellow flowers were gone! 11/19/20 My website: www.sparhawkphotography.com
Pink Sunday for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Just about everyone has, or knows someone who has, been affected by this disease. It is good to be reminded now and then about the need for research and advances in treatment. This pink post is in remembrance of Tina Marie Gardner who spurred us on in this regard, and who asked that we remember her on this day when she knew she would no longer be here to remind us. Think Pink! 10/25/20 My website: www.sparhawkphotography.com
Sorry to be repetitive, but these pretty pink hollyhocks are a reminder of this Sunday, October 25th, as Pink Sunday. This is for Breast Cancer Awareness month, and specifically in memory of our long-time Smugger Tina Marie Gardner, who, every year, challenged us all to post pink on the last Sunday of October. She said that she knew she would not be with us this year, and asked that we continue the challenge in memory of her. Tina was a very brave lady who fought a many-year battle with breast cancer, and we "traveled" with her on the journey. Sadly, she lost the battle a few months ago. So for anyone who wants to join in the challenge, this Sunday is the day! 10/23/20 My website: www.sparhawkphotography.com
