When I was hiking in Caroline Park yesterday, in addition to the white poppies, I also spotted a few cactus plants that were just beginning to bloom. This is one of them. 5/20/20 My website: www.sparhawkphotography.com
One of the streets I've walked recently on my daily walks has some quite different plants in the gardens. I only shoot what I can get from the sidewalk with my Canon G12, which zooms in, but not like my larger cameras and lenses. This is a very small part of a large cactus plant I noticed. I would estimate that there were at least 300 buds on the whole plant! It is just getting started blooming, but should be a bumper crop before it's done! The flowers have a sort of uneven, raggedy look to them, but they have interesting centers and are bright pink. Happy Mother's Day to all you mothers out there! I will be having a virtual brunch and play board games with my grandchildren who live in Canada. There are lots of ways to celebrate! 5/10/20 My website: www.sparhawkphotography.com
