This is a detailed view of part of an installation at the Noah Purifoy Desert Museum. I liked the shapes and lines. I used a textured filter to create this abstract. 12/14/19 Judith Sparhawk
I have an upcoming show with the theme of Abstract Expressions, so decided to play around with some of my images to test them out as possible entries. This one, believe it or not, started as the stained glass window at the top of the rotunda ceiling of the Natural History Museum in Los Angeles. I played with the shapes and the colors, and finally settled on this. I'll have to see how it looks in print, but it may be a possible for the new show. 2/25/20
I went birding today at Seccombe Lake in San Bernardino, CA. I used to visit there fairly often when I worked not far from there. Today the park has become a homeless encampment, with the attendant problems. While standing on one of the bridges over the lake, I saw some beautiful reflections of the sky and trees. I took a few shots of these, wishing to take something beautiful from my visit there, which overall was kind of sad. I was definitely out of place there walking around with my binoculars and my big camera and long lens! I was mostly ignored by the people there, although I did have a nice conversation with a couple of people hanging out in the park. 1/18/21 www.sparhawkphotography.com
