So I think this is the last of the abstracts for awhile. I think I have chosen the abstracts I will be entering into the upcoming show. This one is an abstract made from a not-very-interesting view of a building in downtown Los Angeles. It had columns in front, recessed doors with decorative metal grillwork above. Using filtering, I ended up liking the finished image. You never know just what you'll get, and that's part of the fun of it! 3/7/20 My website: www.sparhawkphotography.com
A couple of days ago I posted a shot of bubbles from the sudsy dishwater in my kitchen sink. This is a different view of the bubbles, with some added colors. The radiating lines were from shadows of the bubbles on the reflective surface of a pan lid. I thought it made a neat abstract, and no one needs to know it was from my dirty dishes! 5/8/20 My website: www.sparhawkphotography.com
OK, I'll admit it--I ate dinner late last night, and got lazy and didn't wash my dishes. Why this confession? This morning when I saw the dishes and pans in the sink, a pan lid soaking with soapy water caught my eye. The soap bubbles looked great, and the light from above formed shadow lines on the metal surface. I had fun shooting the bubbles, and as an alternative, played with the colors as well, which I may post later. You know you've been in lockdown too long when your POTD is of your dirty dishes! 5/5/20 My website: www.sparhawkphotography.com
