When I was working with bubbles in the dirty dishes, Terry made a comment about people shooting bubbles above colored backgrounds. (Thanks Terry!) Her comment made be remember a technique I'd heard of, floating oil on the surface of water in a glass container, with color below the glass. I experimented with this idea, with a bunch of false starts, using prints of some of my abstract photos below. Although I deleted plenty of shots, there were several that I ended up liking. It was a fun project, and this is one of the images that I liked. I may post a few more over time. 5/13/20 My website: www.sparhawkphotography.com
This is an altered version of the almost empty Salsify seadhead that I posted a week or two ago. The previous version was in b&w. For this one, I eliminated the third stem, which was out of focus anyway, and added a textured effect. I ended up liking this more artistic effect. 8/19/20 My website: www.sparhawkphotography.com
In keeping with the theme of "Make A Wish" of yesterday's post, this shot shows a Western Salsify seadhead, with only a couple of "wishes" left! Better hurry and make that wish! ;-) Taken in the San Bernardino Mountains in July. 8/9/20 My website: www.sparhawkphotography.com
