In keeping with the theme of "Make A Wish" of yesterday's post, this shot shows a Western Salsify seadhead, with only a couple of "wishes" left! Better hurry and make that wish! ;-) Taken in the San Bernardino Mountains in July. 8/9/20 My website: www.sparhawkphotography.com
A few days ago a Smugger posted a photograph of a bookstore (I believe somewhere in the Carolinas) that had painted books all around the exterior of the store. I really liked the look of it, and felt bad that I didn't know where it was, and most certainly would never get to see it in real life. Then it occurred to me that I could make my own bookshop creation, using my own books, especially some that had particular meaning for me. So today I photographed a bunch of books and made this fun composite, including, of course, the shop cat. Perhaps a bunny would have been more timely, since I'm posting it on Easter Sunday! 4/12/20 My website: www.sparhawkphotography.com
So I had a project to create an image for the National Orange Show, a fair-like event that has been held locally since 1911, celebrating the citrus industry. Every year they have an art show with two themes, Citrus and Open. There are good prizes, and it is a fun show to enter. I've never gotten higher than 3rd prize and Honorable Mentions, but it's always worth entering. I'm not sure this will be my citrus entry, but it's what came to mind. I'll have to decide on my entries by mid-March, so I have some time to figure it out. It was fun to start with nothing but "citrus" and go from there. 2/12/20 Judith Sparhawk
