~ This is a view of the wooden "awning" over and around the restaurant and cafe. at the Getty Museum. Awning is an inadequate word to describe the beautiful sweep and lines of this architectural detail.
~ This museum and art center is familiarly called "The Getty". It is built of huge blocks of travertine marble from a quarry outside Rome. I like the way the angles and curves of this ceiling detail form an interesting abstract, with clean and simple lines.
Three Stairways at The Getty ~ This huge modern building has many stairways, both interior and exterior. I like the repeated patterns of the stairs, and photographed several stairways.
