After shooting a window with shadows, I decided to make it into an abstract. I liked the way the lines and patterns worked together.
I was walking around downtown Redlands on a photo shoot and noticed this window. I liked the way the shadows from the bars showed up on the curtains and the window edges.
Lagunitas Grocery ~ On vacation in Marin County recently, I drove past this old grocery store on the way out to Point Reyes. It immediately took me back to my childhood in this area--aside from ATM's and fancy coffees, this could have been there 50-60 years ago. I don't even know if Lucas Valley Dairy still exists, but it was like coming "home" to see this scene.

Window to the Past ~ Window detail in old mining town of Randsburg, CA
Sitting with a glass of iced tea on the patio of a Taos coffee house, I saw this scene right next door, and took a couple of quick shots.
Dragon on the Roof
These rooftops are from Renaissance Faire buildings from a faire in Colorado.
The Door Pull
A reworking of the garden gate door pull. I cropped it and adjusted the coloring.
Doorway to the Garden
I am always attracted to doors, gates, passageways. This door pull was on a garden gate at The Living Desert in Palm Desert, California. I liked the shapes, the wood grain, the shadow.
Gate in the Desert
This interesting gate, typical of the southwest, was part of a wall surrounding a home in the small town of Rodeo, New Mexico. I couldn't resist taking a few shots of it.
Gate in the Wall
This was a side gate in the wall surrounding a home in the small town of Rodeo, New Mexico.
Afternoon Meeting on the Stairs
Although I don't usually photograph artwork, I was quite taken with the mural on the wall above the stairway at my local movie theater. In this one I combined the actual stairway railing with the mural stairs, cropping it down to this tender moment on the stairs.
The Garden Door
~ This door marked the entrance to an experimental garden at Living Desert in Palm Desert, California. I liked the wood grain and metal work. I always like doorways and passageways, with their sense of entering into the unknown.
Meeting at Dusk on the Stairs
I had fun working with this portion of the mural, using Topaz Adjust, to take it from a bright afternoon to dusk. The railing on the bottom right is the actual stairway railing, and the rest is the mural.
Stairway to Delights
The mural at the top of the stairs in the movie theater shows vintage views of people out on the town. It has great details. Redlands, California.
Up the Down Staircase
From the lobby of the Krikorian Theater in Redlands, CA. I went to the early-early show before there were many people there, so I could shoot some of the wonderful details in the lobby.
View from the Top
An upstairs view of the mural in the lobby of the movie theater, Redlands, California.
The Top of the Stairs
I went to the movies for the early-early show, before there were many people there, so I could photograph some of the wonderful details of the lobby. This was one of them.
This photo shows the interior of the Harmony Wedding Chapel. Only good marriages begin in a town named Harmony, right?
