A is for Arch
For fotoeffects alphabet challenge. First week....
This is the famous Mobius Arch in the Alabama Hills, out of Lone Pine, CA, east side of the Sierras.
B is for Bobcat
Created for the Alphabet Challenge--2nd week.
C is for Cow
For the alphabet challenge, this purple cow was photographed in Cambria, CA. The County of San Luis Obispo sponsored the painted cow program as a fundraiser, and I saw several very creative and artistic cows in the area. This was one of my favorites, and was outside the historical museum in town. The art on this cow celebrates the local wine growing area.
D is for Dreaming
My entry for the "D" week of the alphabet challenge. It is, clearly, a composite of several images, all things I have photographed at one time or another.
Mushroom in the Forest
The Old Porch
This is a painterly version of the porch on an old building in Hope, Alaska. The building was originally a barn build by John Hershey, and is used as a home currently. I liked the feelof the porch.
A more desaturated version of this image of an old house in Hope, Alaska..
Spirit Houses of Eklutna
Eklutna is about 25 or 30 miles north of Anchorage. As a small child I visited this unique cemetery, and managed to find it in the Alaska trip in June 2016. When the Russian Orthodox settlers came to the area, they insisted that the native peoples should not cremate their dead, but bury them instead. In that much of the year digging in frozen earth was difficult to impossible, they began building these spirit houses over shallow graves. This cemetery is behind a still functioning Russian Orthodox church.
Bison Face Off
This herd of bison live at Elk Island, east of Edmonton, Alberta, in Canada. In this version, I used a filter to give them a more painterly look.
Looking Down the Road
Bison in the Grass
A new version of a few bison from the herd at Elk Island, Alberta.
These beautiful peonies were growing at the motel I stayed in in Anchorage, Alaska. Flowers tend to grow quite large in Alaska, with these blooms about 6 inches across.
It Must Be Paradise
This Bird of Paradise flower was photographed in the San Diego area. It was a very colorful one, a triple, and I decided to play with the colors a bit to emphasize its beauty.
Peacock on the Wall
A filtered version of this image I took at Los Angeles Arboretum a few months ago. There are many peacocks on the grounds. This one had the longest tail I had ever seen.
Birdhouse in the Garden
These birdhouses were in a garden in Seldovia, Alaska.
These Boots Aren't Make For Walking
A painterly version of this display of boots and flowers, seen in front of a shop on the Homer Spit, in Homer, Alaska.
The Church on the Hill
This Russian Orthodox Church is on a hilltop in the small town of Ninilchik, Alaska, given a painterly look.
These pretty foxglove flowers were in a garden in Seldovia, Alaska.
Harbor at Seldovia
A painterly look applied to this image of the boat harbor at Seldovia, Alaska. Seldovia is a small town on the Kenai Peninsula, and can only be approached by boat, as there are no roads connecting it with the rest of the world.
Boots and Flowers
This arrangement was part of a display outside a shop on the Homer Spit, Homer, Alaska.
This non-traditional totem pole was photographed in Seldovia, Alaska.
Veronica's is a fun coffeehouse in old Kenai section of Kenai, Alaska. It is built in one of the original old buildings from this town. I liked the look of this porch, and gave it a painterly look. BTW, a great place to stop for coffee or tea and a very yummy pastry!
These colorful mailboxes were in a residential district in Homer, Alaska.
Houses in Seldovia
These houses are on the river running through Seldovia. The tides can vary as much as 25 feet from low to high tide, and houses along the river are on stilts.
The Wise One at Sunset
I loved the beauty of this elder, against the beauty of the sunset.
Unicorn in the Garden
For some reason I've been having such fun with the unicorn that comes to visit in my garden, that i just keep shooting ;-)
A reworking of this pink hibiscus that I photographed in the San Diego area. I liked the new background.
Running on the Beach
Fun working with a mystical beach scene, horses running on the sand.
This original image was a street scene in downtown Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. This version was processed with Topaz Simplify. I liked the painterly look and the colors.
The lovely Meesha in a quiet moment.
Into the Vision
Saturday morning doodling on the computer, never knowing just what will appear.
Unicorn Over the Rainbow
Playing with images from the archives. The rainbow from the Arizona desert, the moon from the East Sierras, the unicorn from.....
The Unicorn Dream
Funny what inspiration comes when I'm supposed to be going to the gym instead...this unicorn and the full moon seemed like a dream as I created it.
The Butterfly Lady
Flowers and butterflies adorn this lovely woman.
Beauty at Sunset
Working with deep browns, reds and golds of sunset.
Working with an old still life, titled Memories, overlaid with an added image from Topaz. Lots of fun trying out different applications.
The White Falcon
Playing with double exposures in Topaz, having fun and feeling inspired.
The End of the Tunnel
Playing with double exposures in Topaz.
Land of the Snow White Falcon
Playing around with several images, making a composite that said what I wanted to say.
This beautiful white bird is a Gyrfalcon, the largest North American falcon. It's white plumage is suited to its northern habitat.
Goddess of the Setting Sun
A different version of the Sun Goddess image. Rich golds shining in the sun--what could be better?
A reworking of this image from a few weeks ago. Sunset from SE Arizona, model from a recent photo shoot, with lots of reworking. I like the rich feel of it, and the model, Melissa, was wonderful to work with.
Dream a Little Dream....
Rainy day playing with my photos.
Dream a Little Dream 2
A version of this collage without the white vignette, 16x20 size.
Dream a Little Dream 3
